The Engineering
Behind the Breakthrough
Three independent innovations — combined for the first time in a single 3.9mm probe — create an insurmountable competitive moat.
360° Freedom
in a 3.9mm Package
At 3.9mm diameter, the BioUView probe is slim enough to access most periodontal pockets and implant crevices. The joystick-controlled 360° articulation eliminates every blind spot — around implant threads, inside furcations, and along interproximal root surfaces. The dual-view cameras (front and side) provide simultaneous perspectives that no rigid endoscope can match.

Under 365nm UV-A illumination, healthy enamel fluoresces bright blue-white due to its natural fluorophores. Calculus, plaque, and defective restorations appear as dark, non-fluorescing shadows. This provides an immediate, high-contrast map of what needs to be removed — without any dye or stain.
At 405nm violet illumination, porphyrins produced by pathogenic bacteria — including P. gingivalis, T. forsythia, and other periodontal pathogens — emit a vivid red-orange fluorescence. This is the direct optical signature of the bacteria responsible for periodontal disease and peri-implantitis, made visible in real time.
Two Wavelengths.
Two Clinical Insights.
The integration of two clinically validated UV wavelengths into a single articulating probe is the core scientific innovation of BioUView. Each wavelength reveals a different biological target — together they create a complete picture of oral disease that is impossible to obtain with any other instrument.
The 405nm porphyrin excitation technique is validated in peer-reviewed dental literature (Kim et al., 2020; PMC8303189; AdDent, 2024). BioUView's unique advantage is the videoscope form factor — delivering this validated science to the subgingival environment for the first time.
Industrial Precision.
Clinical Application.
BioUView is built on the same Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) platform architecture used in aerospace, energy, and manufacturing — where borescopes inspect jet engines, turbine blades, and pipeline welds without disassembly. This proven engineering discipline is now applied to the human body, bringing industrial-grade inspection precision to dentistry for the first time.
The result is a device that combines the reliability and precision of industrial NDT with the clinical validation and medical-grade construction required for intraoral use. This dual heritage — industrial and clinical — is what makes BioUView uniquely capable.
